Why Side Gate Brewery & Beer Garden Has Become One of My Favorite Local Spots
Downtown Concord continues to evolve, and one place that Willie and I always enjoy visiting is Side Gate Brewery & Beer Garden.
It is more than just a brewery. It has become a gathering place where people come together to relax, enjoy live music, try local food trucks, watch sports, and spend time with friends and family in a welcoming atmosphere.
The first thing that stands out is the energy of the place. The indoor seating area has a warm and modern industrial feel with high ceilings, polished brewing tanks, and long community tables that encourage conversation.
The stainless steel tanks and brewing equipment give the place authenticity and character. It reminds visitors that this is a true local craft brewery producing its own beer right in downtown Concord
Another thing that makes Side Gate special is the outdoor beer garden. On warm East Bay evenings, it becomes one of the best social spaces in Concord. Large shade trees, outdoor seating, and televisions showing games create a relaxed environment where people can spend hours enjoying the atmosphere.
On the evening I visited recently, there was also live music performing outside. The band added even more energy to the experience and showed how Side Gate continues to support local entertainment and community gatherings.
Food trucks are another major part of the experience. Visitors can grab food from rotating local vendors while pairing it with one of Side Gate’s house brews. That combination gives the brewery a constantly changing feel because every visit can be a little different.
What I appreciate most about Side Gate is the positive environment. People of all ages seem comfortable there. Friends gather after work, families spend time together outdoors, and visitors passing through downtown Concord get a reminder that local businesses still help create community.
