Expected Jobs Report and White House Response

Expected Jobs Report and White House Response

On Wednesday, February 11th, 2026 the monthly jobs report is coming out.

The White House is sending messages for everyone to temper their expectations.

The latest  spin from the Trump administration is don’t get your hopes up and if the numbers are bad it’s because illegal immigrants have departed and AI is eating jobs. Tariffs, tax breaks only for the wealthy and continued uncertainty might have something to do with it, but hold your breath if you expect the GOP or the administration to suggest anything remotely logical. Jobs creations have declined since late last year and layoffs have hit highs not seen since the recession which Trump one resided over in 2009.

High productivity is also being cited, but hey I was there in 2009 when I did the work of two people. Talk about productive. This does not even get into how everything is getting more expensive. It’s a little crazy that prices are increasing while retail numbers show Americans have dramatically cut back on spending. Instead of a coherent policy direction should the job numbers tank the administration is making excuses and kicking the can down the road. Stay tune for that report. It’s going to be quite a show. I’m sure the White House press secretary is writing a story now blaming Bad Bunny.
